Nitish Rana is an Indian First-class cricketer was born on 27 December 1993 (Age 23, as on published date) in Delhi. Rana Plays for Delhi Cricket in Domestic. He is aggressive left-handed batsmen and right arm off-break bowler. Nitish has rubbed shoulders with Delhi teammates likes Mithun Manhas, Rajat Bhatia, and Shikhar Dhawan in his formative days. In the year 2015–16 Ranji Trophy Rana made his first-class debut and scored 557 runs, averaging 50.63 in the tournament and finishing as his team’s leading run-getter. He was his team’s second highest run-scorer in the 2015–16 Vijay Hazare Trophy with 218 runs.

In the 2015–16 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Rana struck 299 runs in 8 innings at a strike rate of 175.88 and an average of 42.71. In a match against Andhra in that tournament, Rana came in to bat with Delhi struggling at 40 for 4 and launched counter-attacking innings of 97 off 40 balls (8 fours, 8 sixes) to take his team to 236 for 9 in 20 overs. After Delhi lost three of their top four batsmen for single digit scores against Baroda, Rana top-scored once again with 53 off just 29 balls and helped his team chase down Baroda’s total of 153. Against Jharkhand, he scored an unbeaten 60 off 44 balls after Delhi were reduced to 14 for 3 in their chase of 135 and helped his team to a 5-wicket win.

Rana was picked up in the 2015 IPL auction and made his debut one year later against Royal Challenger Bangalore. He quickly got into the swing of things with a 36-ball 70 against Gujarat Lions in Mumbai’s last IPL match of 2016. Nitish Rana has credited advice from Gautam Gambhir to tweak his batting technique – shifting from a low stance to a more upright one and opening up his front shoulder – for his form in the IPL this season. Rana said he decided to change his technique after he discussed Gambhir’s suggestions with Mahela Jayawardene and Sachin Tendulkar in the Mumbai Indians camp. Gambhir, the Kolkata Knight Riders captain, is a senior team-mate of Rana’s at the Delhi Ranji Trophy team.
